Family Violence Best Practice Principles

Information about personal safety, the Court's strategy, external services and links to other websites

The Family Violence Best Practice Principles are the last part of the Family Court's Family Violence Strategy to be implemented. They are the result of extensive work by a committee within the Court. The principles were launched by the Attorney-General on 6 March 2009.

The principles have been developed to provide decision makers with practical guidance in dealing with matters in which a notice has been filed alleging family violence or the risk of family violence, or abuse or the risk of abuse.
