The Family Court undertakes a proactive role in developing a wide range of initiatives to assist in the early identification of family violence.
The Court has had a family violence policy and practice framework in place since 1993. In 2002 a committee reviewed these policies and practices and developed a family violence strategy.
The following pages outline the key areas of the family violence strategy as well as other measures the Court utilises to ensure the management of matters involving violence and the protection from harm of its clients, their children and court staff.
