Hobart Family Law Registry provides registry services to both the Family Court of Australia and the Federal Magistrates Court which include:
- lodgement of documents
- providing procedural advice and responding to enquiries
- mail handling
- listing of cases
How to get there
- The Commonwealth Law Courts Building is located at 39-41 Davey Street. Opposite St. David's Park and a short walk from the CBD, bus services and taxi ranks.
- Parking is available along Davey Street (2 hour parking meters) and long-term parking is available at the Village Carpark on Collins Street, Centrepoint Carpark on Victoria Street and the Wilson Carpark on Macquarie Street.
What facilities are available
- A public telephone is located on the ground floor.
- Lift access to all floors.
- Wheelchair access to the building is via Davey Street.
- Public toilets are located on the 1st floor, disabled toilet and baby change facilities are located on the ground floor.
- Interpreters can be arranged in advance by contacting the Registry on 1300 352 000.
- Telephone and video conferencing facilities are available.
- Special security needs can be arranged by contacting the Registry on 1300 352 000.
- Food is not sold in the building. There are a number of coffee shops available on Macquarie Street and at Salamanca.
- There are no child minding facilities available.
