The paper above by Registrar Micallef addresses how the changes to the Family Law Rules will impact on family law practitioners and the involvement of the Family Court in issues of costs following 1 July 2008.

The Family Law Rules 2004 have now been amended. The Family Law Amendment Rules 2008 (No 1) were registered in accordance with the provisions of the Legislative Instruments Act 2003. The amendments that relate to costs commenced on 1 July 2008.

View an electronic copy of the Family Law Amendment Rules 2008 (No. 1) on the ComLaw website. The website also contains a consolidated version of the Family Law Rules 2004. As the amendments relating to costs have not yet commenced, they are located at note 2 in the Notes to the consolidated version of the Rules, which are printed at the end of the document.
