Practice Direction No. 7 of 2004, which consolidates matters relevant to appeals, no longer represents the practice and procedure of the Court.
The directions issued under Practice Direction No. 7 of 2004 are therefore no longer applicable.
Robing policy for legal practitioners appearing before the Family Court in the exercise of its appellate jurisdiction has been standardised on a national basis. Practice Direction No. 1 of 2002 is therefore no longer required.
Revocation of Practice Directions
Practice No. 7 of 2004 ‘Appeals – Family Law Rules 2004’ is revoked with effect from 21 September 2015.
The revocation of this Practice Direction does not revive any earlier Practice Directions revoked by it.
Practice Direction No. 1 of 2002 ‘Australian Capital Territory – Court Robes’ is revoked with effect from 21 September 2015.
